  伦敦国王学院，King’s College London，由英国国王乔治四世和时任首相的著名军事家、政治家惠灵顿公爵于1829年创办，是伦敦大学集团两所始建院校之一，也是英国罗素大学集团的成员之一。伦敦国王学院以学术研究为导向，学院教师和毕业生中有12位诺贝尔奖得主。伦敦国王学院在2017/18年度QS世界大学排名中位列世界第23位，2016/17年度Times世界大学排名中位列世界第36位。2019/20年度QS世界大学排名中位列世界第33位

  KCL历史

  1800-1849

  1828年第一次关于成立国王学院的会议在伦敦举行，由惠灵顿公爵主持。1829年8月14日

  国王乔治四世给King's颁发了皇家特许状，King's从此正式拥有了皇室血统！

  1839年国王学院医院正式建立；1846年我们神学系成立。

  1850-1899

  1860年南丁格尔创建的护理学院在St Thomas'医院成立。

  1873年国王学院的第一个学生组织成立；1888年，Guy's成为英国第一个设立牙科的综合性医院；1890年，国王学院的教师培训成立。1897年，国王学院搬到Wimbledon。

  1900-1949 1910年国王学院女子部发展成为国王女子学院。

  1948年在NHS的基础上，Guys', King's和St Thomas' 的医学部门从医院独立出来。

  1950-2004

  1953年国王学院家庭与社会科学系重命名为伊丽莎白女王学院；1985年，伊丽莎白女王学院和切尔西学院与国王学院合并; 1998年国王学院护理研究系和南丁格尔研究所合并，形成伦敦国王学院内的弗洛伦斯·南丁格尔护理与助产学院。

  2001年改自公共档案馆的The Chancery Lane Library开幕，2002年更名为Maughan Library；到了2004，国王学院正式成立175周年~并举办了一系列庆祝175周年的特别活动节目。
