哥伦比亚大学(Columbia University in the City of

Master
of Science program in Business Analytics (MSBA)由工业工程与运筹学系(IEOR Department)和商学院(Columbia Business School)联合开办,是哥大商学院和工程学院为了顺应大数据时代发展合办的一个新项目,它的建立凝聚了很多学生、校友及组织的共同努力。该项目强调通过使用数据,统计和定量分析以及解释和预测性建模等方法来建立对业务发展的新见解,促使做出改进公司业务运营与发展的可行性决策。
课程设计:
该项目包括三个学期,秋季入学,次年八月底毕业;可自主选择进行暑期实习,同时毕业时间会顺延至次年秋季。学生需要修满36个学分(即12 three-credit courses)。课程设置灵活且涵盖广泛,其中至少六门课要在IEOR Department修读,4-6门课在商学院修读,此后如果学分还没修满,还可以选择性修读其他院系的相关课程,比如the School of Engineering, the School
of International and Public Affairs, the Law School, 或the Departments of Economics、Mathematics and Statistics。
该项目要求申请者拥有工程、数学、计算机科学、统计学、经济学、金融学或其他类似的学历背景和较强的数学背景。先修课方面要学过演算、线性代数、概率论、统计学等课程。该项目对工作经历没有硬性要求,但是大多数被录取的学生都有全职工作或实习经历。该项目对于学生的各项成绩有严格要求:GPA≥3.0,TOEFL≥100。
通过课程中的Analytics Capstone Projects,学生会直接参与客户分析项目,从而积累实践经验,获得竞争优势;通过Professional Development and
Leadership (PDL)项目,学生也会提高生活和工作技能。此外,IEOR Career department会为每个学生提供职业咨询和规划等服务;同时针对国际学生在美国面临的独特性挑战,会帮助其尽快适应美国的文化和商业环境;增强面试技巧;拓展社会关系。
