The Cornell School of Hotel Administration offers a combination of inspired classroom teaching and innovative practical experiences. As the only Ivy League business-management program to focus on hospitality, we actively prepare students to be leaders in a dynamic global industry.

The MMH Program is an AACSB-accredited, specialized business degree offered on two campuses that covers an intensive three-semester curriculum in one year. This rigorous academic program is based on MMH degree requirements that cultivate strategic thought and quantitative skills, a combination essential in upper management positions. In addition to core requirements, students choose their own Concentration, a series of courses concentrating in their intended career path.

Most concentration faculty advisors consult professionally and conduct research in their areas of expertise.  This focus allows them to develop an unsurpassed depth of knowledge as well as industry contacts and connections.  Faculty advisors will recommend specific contacts to student advisees to assist them in networking to locate industry mentors, externships, and full-time positions.

You are encouraged to build a networking community of executives with whom you can discuss aspects of your career path - to request career advice or to explore connections at a specific company. Programs such as the Externship and Executives-in-Residence, and on-campus events, such as the Atrium Company Showcases, give students immediate networking opportunities.  These valuable professional relationships are often the keys to achieving career goals and objectives.

The Office of Student Services has also developed contacts at a wide variety of companies across the United States and internationally. Search for a list of contacts in a particular industry segment, at a particular company, or geographically. Or reach out to Hotel School alumni by accessing the Alumni Directory, which lists both undergraduate and graduate alums.

Representatives from hospitality companies make annual visits to campus to meet and recruit students. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet employers in person, learn about different organizations and positions, and talk with them about your experiences. The Center for Hospitality Research and The Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship bring distinguished hospitality leaders to share their wisdom in the classroom and through informal gatherings, giving our students distinctive learning experiences.

The Executive-in-Residence program brings senior executives to the school for an academic year of student advising. This is a unique opportunity to interact with and learn from highly successful hospitality leaders who bring to campus a wealth of proven management strategies.
