Intensive English (ELICOS) at the Lord Mayor’s Welcome

Adelaide Town Hall

Thursday 27th March

International students from the secondary and tertiary sectors were officially welcomed to Adelaide by the Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood on Thursday 27th of March. This annual event, held in the Adelaide Town Hall, attracted almost 900 new International students! Our USC Intensive English students – and three of our Yr12 ICE Breakers – attended the event. With food, drink, live music and hundreds of excited students mingling together – it was a great way to help our students see for themselves that Adelaide is a great destination that attracts International students from all over the world. And the Lord Mayor is there to personally welcome each of them to our city! A special thank you to three of the Yr12 ICE Breakers - Angela Joy, Ruth Goh and Julian Russo - for joining us at this event.

 

阿德莱德市政厅每年举办市长欢迎国际留学生的活动。今年3月27日阿德莱德大学附中语言班的同学和12年级的Angela Joy, Ruth Goh和Julian Russo参加了阿德莱德市长Stephen Yarwood在市政厅举行的欢迎仪式。有大约900名来自各个国家的国际学生参加来感受澳洲的食物， 饮料和现场音乐。图为国际留学生合影。

余同学是2014年2月入读到阿德莱德大学附中语言班的学生，当初选择到阿德莱德市留学的几个主要原因有：

1、中国留学生比例相对较少，语言环境好；

2、生活费用低廉，同时能享受学生优惠5折车票，留学性价比高；

3、工作机会多，是澳洲发展最快的城市之一；

4、移民优势（偏远地区加分）

目前余同学反馈回来的信息比较乐观，她在学校读的非常开心，老师和同学都很热心的帮助自己，参加过几次学校组织的远足短程旅行，已经通过了第一阶段的语言课学习，很有信心如期入读阿德莱德大学附中的11年级，她将来的目标是考到海洋环境相关的本科。
